III. Notes for visits

A. A photo identification certificate, such as an ID card or driver's license, is required for verification when applying for a visit.

B. First-time visitors who are collateral blood relatives up to the third degree or marital relatives up to the second degree of the inmates must present a duplicate of the household certificate, the official household certificate, or a copy of the household certificate.

C. Juveniles and children without ID cards must provide official household certificates and National Health Insurance (NHI) cards.

D. The visiting party may consist of two persons or fewer, not counting children under 5 years old.

IV. Restrictions to visit inmates

A. Number of visits

1. Inmates undergoing rehabilitation (detoxification) treatment are allowed one visit per week, as specified in Article 22 of the Statute of Rehabilitation Penalty.

2. Juvenile inmates undergoing rehabilitation (detoxification) treatment are permitted one visit per week, in accordance with Article 12 of the Statute of Execution for Rehabilitation Penalty.

3. Regular juvenile inmates may receive one visit per day.

B. Eligible Visitors:

1. For inmates undergoing rehabilitation (detoxification) treatment: Visits are limited to the spouse, lineal blood relatives, collateral blood relatives up to the third degree, and marital relatives up to the second degree.

2. For juvenile inmates undergoing rehabilitation (detoxification) treatment: Visits are restricted to the spouse and lineal blood relatives, or others specifically permitted by the Superintendent of the Treatment Center due to exceptional reasons.

3. For regular juvenile inmates: Visits are limited to the spouse, lineal blood relatives, collateral blood relatives up to the third degree, and marital relatives up to the second degree. If visited by friends, they must be accompanied by the juvenile inmates' parents. Visits from school teachers or social welfare workers from relevant institutions require the presentation of appropriate identification for verification before the visits are approved.

C. Visiting Hours:

Notes: If the facility becomes too crowded, the schedules for group visits may be modified to accommodate the influx and ensure a smooth visiting process for everyone.

D. Restrictions on Delivering Food and Daily Commodities for Inmates Undergoing Rehabilitation (Detoxification) Treatment:

1. For inmates undergoing rehabilitation (detoxification) treatment:

(1) Food and beverages are not allowed to be brought in during visits, with exceptions made for specific holidays. These include January 1 and 2, New Year's Eve up to the 5th day of the first month of the Chinese calendar, Mother's Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Father's Day, and the Mid-Autumn (Moon) Festival. On these selected holidays, visitors may bring in dry dishes or fruits, provided the total weight does not exceed two kilograms. This provision allows for a one-time delivery for one of the aforementioned occasions.

(2) Necessary commodities:

a. Method of delivery: Inmates must first fill out an application slip and an identity slip, which then need to be approved by the Center authority. Following approval, the identity slip will be mailed to close relatives or family members. These recipients must then react according to the following manners:

(a) Delivered while visiting: Close relatives or family members bring the commodities along with the identity slip to the inmate during their visit.

(b) Delivered by Mail: After inspection, the package containing the commodities, with the approved identity slip attached, is sent to the inmate via registered mail.

b. Items to be delivered are limited to clothes, eyeglasses, books, and magazines. The number of books and magazines combined cannot exceed 3 items for each delivery.

2. For juvenile inmates undergoing rehabilitation (detoxification) treatment:

(1) No Food and Beverage: Food and beverages are not allowed to be brought in or delivered.

(2) Necessary Commodities: The types and quantities of necessary commodities that can be delivered must be limited and approved by the facility.

(3) For regular juvenile inmates: During visits, dry dishes and fruits can be delivered, provided that the total weight does not exceed two kilograms each time.

E. Restriction on Delivering Medications:

Inmates are not permitted to request the delivery of medications. Necessary medications must be prescribed by a doctor, and the prescription must receive approval from the medical staff within the Center before the Center can make the purchase on behalf of the inmates. On exceptional occasions, inmates may provide medical prescriptions and request the delivery of medications, but only after the medications have been verified and approved by the Center's medical staff.
